All proceeds from tonight’s event will go to The Christie Charity. This year, we are fundraising for a full-time Youth Support Education and Employment Mentor to support teenage and young adult (TYA) cancer patients at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust — the UK’s largest cancer treatment centre for this age group.

TYA patients, aged 16–24, face unique challenges as diagnosis during a key stage in life can disrupt their education, employment, and long-term life goals. Many live in economically deprived areas and face delayed diagnoses and complex treatments. The mentor will provide tailored support to help these patients stay engaged with education, access training, and prepare for employment — offering hope, structure, and a positive focus during and after treatment.

The existing education and employment schemes at the hospital have already helped dozens of young patients gain qualifications, work experience, apprenticeships, and jobs. With your support, we can increase this impact and give more young people a better future beyond cancer.  We are also contributing to The Christie Charity General Cancer Appeal, which supports vital work in research, cutting-edge equipment, and improved treatment facilities such as a new state of the art scanning centre.
